Tips and warning

* Many community offer customers the recycling program, so you can take the cardboard boxes to the place. Anyway, some communities don’t accept both types of cardboard; you might need to drop them at the supermarket.

* There’re some kind of cardboard which cannot be recycled such as Pizza boxes which is full of greasy oil, boxes which haven’t been flattened and emptied out and wet boxes.

* Check with your local recycling program to see whether they can recycle cardboard with staples because in some place, it’s unacceptable to recycle with the staples.

* You need to check if your local recycling program will recycle waxed cardboard such as milk and juice cartons. If not, your community or other recycling place may have a drop-off center for waxed cardboard.

* You have to remove any boxes that cannot be recycled, especially those that are contaminated by toxic or hazardous materials.

* To prevent destroying the recycling process, avoid recycling cardboard that is full of food or any type of oil.

* Cardboard without too much writing, inks and plastic coating on it, is eventually recyclable, and compostable.

* Many cardboard products that already have some recycled content; their recycling life is even shorter. So, we better reuse it.
